Probus Walk 4th October 2016 – The Smart Bridge
The Walk started with a stroll over the River Clyde on The Smart Bridge. It is called the Smart Bridge by the services it carries for the planned Shawfield Business Centre.
Then by the River Banks to Richmond Park, we noted that the Polmadie Bridge had been removed leaving only the Piers. We went across the River by the Suspension Bridge to the Peoples Palace to find it closed for refurbishment, alas no coffee, so onward along the Clyde Banks to the Converted Renfrew Ferry which was open for our Coffee. This was new to us and we inspected the Restaurant and the lower deck Dance Floor. Satisfied, we continued to the Old Pump House, which has a clock tower, to find it was going to be turned into a Micro Distillery, we are always finding new things on the walks. We finished the Walk at Partick Station.
