Robert Ferguson

Robert qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974 after obtaining a BSc in Optics and was an Executive Director with Arthur Young now EY Chartered Accountants.  In 1991 he became Head of Facilities for United Distillers, now Diageo, and joined the National Trust for Scotland in 1998 to reopen Pollok House in Glasgow and when he retired 16 years later, he had been promoted to head the Glasgow and West of Scotland region of the Trust.  Now retired, Robert is Chairman of the National Trust for Scotland Glasgow Members’ Centre and President of the Glasgow Art Club as well as Chairman of the Lorimer Society.   In addition, over the last 25 years, Robert has organised and led over 30 art tours around the world which has allowed him to share his interests and passion for history and art.
