Starting at Dumbarton Central Station, 8 walkers headed through the town to the river Leven. Turning north, we headed up and over the bridge to the west of the river continuing up the riverside path before turning off on Renton Road. A sharp left turn was then taken on to Kipperoch Road (which is no more than a farm track), and this took us through the middle of two farms where sheep and cattle were in plentiful supply. We enjoyed stunning views over the Clyde as we walked, and we followed this road all the way, in glorious sunshine, to Cardross where we tucked in to tea, coffee and rolls and bacon or sausage before getting the train home.
