Rev Bruce Sinclair : Christmas Address
The Christmas Lunch went well this year. Attendees were treated to the Nativity tale in a way they’ve never heard before by Rev Bruce Sinclair. The Nativity was cleverly crafted with over 80 TV Titles into the telling of the story. The titles were woven into the fabric of the traditional tale. ‘Law and Order’ resonated as the justification for the Census called by King Herod (also known as ‘Mastermind’) so that he could find out where the Messiah was born. The Innkeeper waived ‘The Bill’ for the use of the Stable because of the ‘Rising Damp’ and so on. The Nativity had thrown in a ‘Touch of Frost’ while shepherds watched their flocks at night as well as other titles such as ‘Pointless’, ‘Chewing the Fat’, ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and ‘Absolutely Fabulous’. And the Magi, of course, were the ‘East Enders’. A tour de force of wit and ingenuity. Thank you Bruce for sharing it with us!
