Alex is a second year PhD student at the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Virus Research working in the Brennan lab, having previously completed an Integrated Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. Our lab uses techniques such as reverse genetics technologies to probe how clinically relevant pathogens within the order Bunyavirales are transmitted by ticks, and alongside this how these viruses replicate and cause disease at a cellular level, in both tick and host cells.
