Stewart Houston

I was the Procurator Fiscal at Lanark for 26 years from 1981 till 2007 and spent a total of 34 years in the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal service. Prior to 1981, I was a Depute Procurator Fiscal at Edinburgh and Dumbarton. Following my retirement in 2007at Lanark, I worked part-time two days a week for 7 years doing criminal courts in Hamilton, Dumfries, the Borders, Kilmarnock, Ayr and Livingston.

My hobbies include swimming, table tennis, golf, public speaking, learning French, collecting old toys and the works of Robert Burns. I am a past President of the Rotary Club of Biggar, a volunteer with the local  Branch of Guide Dogs, a volunteer with Biggar Museum Trust and a Trustee of Biggar little Cinema. “
