Dr Richard Petty
Richard is a retired Consultant Neurologist from what was the Southern General Glasgow. He was appointed in 1995 after periods of training in Newcastle and both the Royal Free and National Hospital, Queen Square in London. He was awarded MD by Newcastle University in 1989 for a thesis on the clinical features of Mitochondrial Diseases. During his period as Consultant in Glasgow he established with colleagues services for Motor Neurone Disease for the west of Scotland and adult Muscle Disease service covering the whole of Scotland.
Charitable roles included being chair of Scottish Council of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and Chairman of the Scottish Motor Neurone Disease Association (formerly MND Scotland)
