Sep 17 2024:   Temple, Cairnhill and Garscube loop (3b). Starting under Anniesland railway bridge we headed through the cross and turned north up the lane into temple towards the canal.  We then cut east onto the Switchback and turned right under the bridge and passed the traffic lights before turning onto the Cairnhill forest path.  Through the forest, we then came out into Bearsden, crossed the Switchback, turned towards Canniesburn and, after the houses turned into a path through the trees which brought us To Maryhill road which we crossed and turned right heading back towards Glasgow.  We stopped for refreshments at the cafe opposite the Renault garage before crossing Maryhill road and entering Garscube Estate. We continued through the estate keeping to the west of the river Kelvin and then took a left  to what looked like a dead end. After carefully manoeuvering past a large skip of horse manure, we went over a small fence and round a large metal fence which brought us into Dawsholm Park.Up the stairs and followed the path to the top fields. Just before the second field we turned down the edge of the first field and alighted onto the Switchback just beside the railway bridge from where we turned ino Temple Road, over the canal and down Crow road to Gt Western Road. Turned left and headed home.
