Peter Mackay is a retired civil servant, a former head of the Scottish Office Industry Department and at one time looked after the Scottish Office interest in broadcasting. He now lives in Kincraig in the Cairngorm National Park. His interests are Scottish history, and outdoor activity. He was educated at the Glasgow High School and St Andrews.
