Graham Caie
Professor Graham Caie, CBE, FRSE, FEA, FRSA was Vice Principal and Clerk of Senate at Glasgow University. He also held the Chair of English Language since 1990. Prior to Glasgow, he was at Copenhagen University for 18 years. He was Vice President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Vice Chair of the Board of the National Library of Scotland, is currently Vice President of the Scottish Text Society, a Trustee of the Abbotsford Library Trust, an Observer on the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland, a member of Queen Margaret University Court and on the British Council Scottish Advisory Committee. Most of his time is now spent representing the three UK Academies on the Board of ALLEA, the Federation of European National Academies, which inter alia provides scientific advice to the EU Parliament and Commission.
