Colin Selman

Professor Colin Selman

 

Qualified in Biological Sciences in Glasgow in1994.  He gained his PhD in Durham in 1998.

Prior to becoming Professor of Biogerontology (Physiology of Aging and Welfare) at Glasgow in 2013, he has held a number of university research posts including the University of Florida, USA, University College London and the University of Aberdeen.

Professor Selman’s research interests focus on understanding the mechanisms underlying the aging process, primarily in mammals.  He is a prolific author and an frequent contributor to his field giving talks internationally as far apart as California and Israel.

Professor Selman’s talk will be based on his findings from many years of wide-ranging research on aging.  This will be of considerable interest to Kelvin Probus members who have a vested interest in the subject.
