Chris O’Connell studied archaeology at Durham and Reading Universities and this continues to be an interest to Chris and informs his current work at Scottish Canals. Chris has been in post with Scottish Canals for 6 years and is currently their Heritage Manager. The key responsibilities of the post are ensuring that work on the canals complies with legislation and is appropriate to the heritage of the canals, as well as the promotion of and research into the history of the Scottish Canals. Chris is currently working on a number of interpretive projects on the canal network, and his presentation will detail these.
