Alicia Herbert OBE

Alicia Herbert is the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Director of Education, Gender and Equalities and the UK’s Special Envoy for Gender Equality.

Previously Alicia worked in academia, the World Bank and represented the UK government in senior roles in Mozambique, Sudan and Nigeria.

Over the past 25 years, she has played a leading role in shaping international development policy and driving programme delivery and policy reform in countries across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
